A few Sundays ago we didn’t have soccer or any other event to go to. We should have worked in the yard since the weather was amazing. But I had the idea that we go take a walk on the Riverwalk in Tampa. The Wife loved the idea. A nice walk with the family through downtown Tampa or no fun yard work. The middle boy didn’t want to get out of bed, but J-dawg and the oldest were in. We parked at the Poe Garage next to the Glazier Children’s Museum. The Wife wanted to walk up the river to Water Works Park. It’s a short walk, but the Riverwalk is under construction for this segment and we had to cross the street several times. We hoped we would be able to eat lunch at Uele. Our hopes were squashed by an hour and half wait. We should have expected it to be crowded. It was a Sunday afternoon with amazing weather. We decided to walk back to Curtis Hixon Park. We found Anise Gastropub across the street from Curtis Hixon. It wasn’t too crowded and we were sat rather quickly. They had a good drink selection and a small food menu. J-Dawg is not a big lunch eater so we let him order some ice cream. The Wife got the Chicken and Waffles. The oldest and I ordered the Lobster Mac. The lobster mac was good, but couldn’t touch the Chicken and Waffles. They were very tasty and ended up being shared by the four of us. After lunch, we headed down river on the Riverwalk. There were families out riding bikes and spending time in the marvelous weather. We walked about a mile down river to the Sail Pavilion to have a few adult beverages and a lemonade for J-Dawg. It was fun watching the boats going up and down the river. We saw a few college rowing teams training on the river. I wish I had taken my camera with me to take some better photos, but will have to settle for the ones I took with my iPhone.
