It was 20 years ago today that I became a Dad. My oldest son, Chris, is 20 today. I look back to this day 20 years ago and fondly remember holding my son for the first time. That moment changed my life forever. I now had to take care of someone beside myself. My Wife and I were young. We were both 20. We both worked part-time for Publix. We lived in a small one bedroom apartment. Life has changed a lot over the years. We needed lots of help to get where we are. I’m not sure we would have made it without help from Family. We now have 3 boys. Own a nice home in a great neighborhood. My Wife has a Masters degree in Nursing. My boys love being together. We went fishing yesterday and had a great time and made a great memory, though didn’t catch anything.
I hope I raised him right. He is a kind and loving person. He is the guy that would give you the shirt off his back. He sometimes needs a kick in the butt to give some direction, but think he finally figured out what he wants to be/do in life. He told me he wants to look into Marine Biology. Chris, you can do whatever you desire and I think you would be a great marine biologist. I love you son and still feel that same feeling that I felt when I held you for the first time.
