A couple of weekends ago, my Wife and I took our youngest son to stay a night at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. We are Vacation Club Members and had a some points that we forgot to bank. We needed to use them before they expired at the end of February. We couldn’t find anything to book at Walt Disney World, so we decided on a last minute trip to Vero Beach. It was the first time we have stayed at a Vacation Club Resort that wasn’t at Disney World. It took a couple of hours to drive across the State. It was a pleasant drive through the heart of Florida. Lots of farms and forest. We got to the resort a little after noon and were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready. I spent a few extra points to get an Ocean View room and was happy I did. The view from the room was awesome. We spent some time enjoying the view, then went downstairs for lunch. We had a nice lunch at the Green Cabin Room out on their outdoor dining area. It overlooked the Atlantic and the sound of the waves crashing was relaxing.
After lunch, J-Dawg wanted to play Mini-Golf. They have a 9 hole mini-golf course by the pool called Port Holes. I managed to beat the two of them for the first round. We then went to play some ping pong. It was fun spending time with our youngest. We spend so much time with our middle son at soccer, that we don’t get much alone time with J-Dawg.
After some goofing around, we took a walk on the beach and collected seashells. J-Dawg had a blast walking along the beach.
More on our trip tomorrow.
